  • Explore epidemiology, social and behavioural determinants of health, health systems, environmental and physical determinants of health, as well as health promotion.

Entry requirements

Find the entry requirements most relevant to you.

  • Completed a 3-year or 4-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in the area of health with a 4.8 GPA or higher;
    or
  • completed a 3-year or 4-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a different discipline with a 4.8 GPA or higher, and completed 1 year of full-time work experience in a healthcare setting;
    or
  • completed UniSQ's Graduate Certificate of Public Health or Graduate Diploma of Public Health with a 4.8 GPA or higher.

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 with a minimum 6.0 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

Additional requirements for placements

All students must provide the following documents prior to commencing clinical placements:

  • Blue Card or Working with Children Check
  • Australian Police Check certificate
  • Resume (CV)
  • UniSQ Student Declaration
  • UniSQ Placement Request Form.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

Placement experience

In addition to courses studied, students need to complete a total of 120 hours of placement, across 2 courses. The placements provide students with an opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge to public health practice.
