  • UniSQ’s Graduate Certificate of Education (Career Development) is ideal if you work in teaching, counselling, training, employment or community development roles and support the career planning and development of students, clients, and organisations.
  • Develop your expertise as a practitioner by focusing on the big picture issues in career development, including policy, employability and learning.
  • This specialisation does not qualify you for teacher registration in Queensland. You can qualify for teacher registration in Queensland with the Master of Learning and Teaching (Early Years), Master of Learning and Teaching (Primary) or Master of Learning and Teaching (Secondary).

Professional accreditation

The Graduate Certificate of Education (Career Development) addresses core and selected specialist competencies from the Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners, and it has been officially endorsed by the as a qualification for the status of professional career development practitioner under the Professional Standards.

  • Career opportunities exist in an array of work environments from schools, TAFEs and universities to government agencies and industry. Roles can include career development practitioner, career educator, career counsellor, work-integrated learning coordinator or employment counsellor.
