ATAR The Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) is a percentile rank used to assess the results of high-school applicants for undergraduate entry into university. 60.00 55.45
  • To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in English (Units 3 & 4, C). We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at high school level (typically studied in Year 12). Find out more about assumed knowledge.
  • Attend an audition and interview with selected creative arts major discipline staff to confirm satisfactory capacity to participate in practical courses. 
  • Applicants are not required to have undertaken high school music and certification from the Australian Music Examinations Board is not required.
  • If no ATAR, applicants can successfully undertake an audition/interview and supply a written statement.

Note: It is a requirement that Queensland-based students hold a current positive notice indicating that they are deemed suitable for working with children and young people whilst studying the Bachelor of Creative Arts and Community Wellbeing. Audition and interview information

Applicants will need to bring:

  • a school exit statement, or evidence of previous education standard achieved
  • your own accompanying tracks on MP3 or an iPod if required
  • If you don't have an ATAR, please provide a written statement (500 words) addressing your interests, goals and aspirations in studying the Bachelor of Creative Arts and Community Wellbeing, with some reflection on your musical experiences and training.

Auditions and interviews will be held at UniSQ Springfield campus or via Zoom.  On-campus applicants must attend an audition and interview and perform two contrasting pieces. Applicants for online study will submit a video recording of their performances and attend a phone/Zoom interview.

Special entry schemes for admissions may increase your Rank, through the allocation of additional points in certain circumstances, such as educational disadvantage where you live, and subjects you passed.

Tafe (VET) qualification

If you have completed a qualification from a TAFE or qualified private provider, you may be able to use these qualifications to meet UniSQ's entry requirements.

You may be able to use your work experience and other adjustment factors to increase your selection rank and meet UniSQ's entry requirements.

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 with a minimum 5.5 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

*The second 8-unit major can be chosen from any approved 8-unit major in another discipline in the School of Creative Arts (e.g. Theatre, Visual Art, TV/Radio, Film Production etc.) or from a recommended major outside of the creative arts, such as Child and Family Studies, Health and Social Wellbeing, or Community Development and Indigenous Studies, providing all entry requirements are met.

Professional experience

As part of the degree, you will need to complete professional experience placements. These experiences provide you with opportunities to put theory into practice.

All students must be able to meet the physical and other professional requirements of professional practice within this degree.
