Overview
In a digitally sophisticated contemporary communications landscape, photographers must be able to produce innovative and interactive solutions to enhance their professional work outputs. This course gives students the opportunity to consolidate their skills in photographic imaging by expanding on the technologies and practices of image capture, output and storage in photographic technologies. It prepares students for their third-year project course by extending their knowledge of specialist techniques and ethical obligations, and the practical skill set and knowledge to effectively and efficiently produce and control a message or produce a creative work.
Students will advance their skills in photographic imaging, image enhancement, and visual communication in order to control a message across a range of platforms, including social media. Through practice-led learning, examination of case studies, and academic inquiry, students will examine and explore the principles and practice of abstraction, construction, fabrication, and fact, and apply these to visual storytelling.
