Undergraduate nursing students need an ability to link theory to practice. As students enter the final year of the program, this course enables students to integrate more theoretical knowledge into practice whilst caring for individuals across the lifespan with a range of conditions and in variety of contemporary health and wellness settings offering different models of care. Final year Bachelor of Nursing students are required to demonstrate competence in clinical practice and be able to apply more advanced decision-making skills in accordance with the NMBA standards of practice.
The assessment in this course is competency-based. Students will achieve either a pass or fail for each assessment. Students need to pass all assessment items to successfully complete the course. These competency items form part of the UniSQ accreditation agreement with the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Council [ANMAC].
