Overview
In Semester 3, 2023 this course will be delivered as a Transition (9 week) semester, commencing on 13 November 2023 and concluding on 12 January 2024.
The management of the projects deals with the development and implementation of business processes to accommodate the business needs and requirements. Students entering the IS/ICT (Information Systems/Information Communication Technologies) project management domain should be able to apply and review evolving project management methodologies and frameworks, taking into consideration new technologies, tools, techniques, personnel and the implications associated with new projects. This course enables students to successfully manage IS/ICT projects based on the context of the project plan-driven approaches. It is the only course with a focus on IS/ICT project management issues, consequently it is essential if students wish to engage in IS/ICT project management.
The course introduces and reviews IS/ICT project management frameworks and methodologies. Participants will learn about the IS/ICT management frameworks and the ten project management knowledge areas across the project management lifecycle of initiation, planning, executing, controlling and closing. The course will also examine critical aspects of IS/ICT management, security management, team management, ethical considerations, change management and ethical considerations.
