Access and success for students with disabilities
How can education become more inclusive for students with disabilities? The question will be the focus of the 黄片看片神器 Thought Leadership Series event this evening, where an expert panel will tackle the barriers to educational success for students with diverse needs.
The event at UniSQ Brisbane will be moderated by Associate Professor Melissa Fanshawe, who said the discussion would examine the cultural shifts, policy changes, and support systems needed to make education accessible for all.
“We need to address both the obvious and invisible barriers that impact equitable access for students with disabilities,” Associate Professor Fanshawe said.
“This discussion is timely, as we face a critical need for reforms to ensure that every student has a chance to succeed, regardless of their circumstances.”
The panel includes:
- Professor Paul Harpur OAM – Paralympian and Disability Rights Legal Academic
- Professor Stephen Duckett AM – Health Economist
- Lisa Connolly – Co-Chair, UniSQ Student Senate
“Physical access is important, but true inclusion goes beyond infrastructure,” Professor Harpur said.
“It means emotional and educational support across every aspect of student life.
“Education is key to breaking down barriers and opening doors to equal employment opportunities for people with disabilities.”
The event will provide a platform for critical discussions on how to better support students with diverse needs, addressing challenges like self-stigma, fluctuating support needs, and the importance of flexible assessment models.
